The beginning of the school year is always such an exciting time. It's when school staff come back together after the summer, ready to inspire and support our students, and when students return eager to reconnect with their classmates.

Lee County, Florida, is experiencing a baby boom that would make a stork blush. Picture this: every single day, 22 to 24 little bundles of joy are born at Lee Health hospitals.

It's hard to believe we are just a few days away from welcoming our students back for the 2024-25 school year.

As summer vacation is in full swing, we need to take a moment to appreciate our hardworking staff and make sure they too are taking this time to rejuvenate and relax.

Summer break is here! The joyous sounds of hundreds of our students tossing their caps in celebration filled the air as the Class of 2024 graduated this May.

As we come to the end of the school year, it is my pleasure to update you on what has been happening at The School District of Lee County since my previous article.

As we embark on this last quarter I want to welcome Dr. Ken Savage back to the role of Superintendent. He served this District well during the last transitionary period and I am confident he will provide our students and staff stability in the months ahead

As the holiday season approaches and we near the end of another semester, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the accomplishments and challenges we have faced together as a community.

I have just completed my first year as a school board member and collectively one year together for this school board. Now, I present to you a recap of the year and a look ahead to the future.
