REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM

Instructional staff who complete a certification test in a high demand area and add the subject area to their Florida Educator’s Certificate, will be eligible for a one-time incentive payment to reimburse the cost of testing. Reimbursement will be for testing fees only and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are no longer available. In accordance with FL DOE requirements, instructional staff must have received a “highly effective” or “effective” rating on their most recent Final Performance Evaluation in order to be eligible for this incentive.
Limitations:
- Reimbursement is only available to current instructional staff members covered by the TALC agreement.
- Reimbursement is only available for examinations passed from July 1, 2024 to June 1, 2025.
- All requests for reimbursement must be received in Human Resources Operations by June 2, 2025.
- This program is funded by the District’s ESEA Title II-A grant, which may or may not be continued in future years.
- Reimbursement will be for testing fees only and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are no longer available.
- Reimbursement will be provided only for the actual cost of regular administrations. Reimbursement for late or emergency registrations will be limited to the amounts of the comparable regular on-time registration.
- Reimbursement is only available for examinations in a high demand area listed below:
Chemistry 6-12, Deaf or Hard of Hearing, Earth-Space Science, English 6-12, ESOL K-12, Exceptional Student Education K-12, Mathematics 6-12, Middle Grades English 5-9, Middle Grades General Science 5-9, Middle Grades Mathematics 5-9, Physics 6-12, Speech-Language Impaired K-12, Visually Impaired K-12
- Reimbursement will only be provided for test administration(s) for which the applicant received a passing score.
- Applicant may be reimbursed for multiple subject area examinations in a high demand area.
- The General Knowledge Exam and the Professional Education Exam are not covered under this Reimbursement Program.
- Applicant must have received a Highly Effective or Effective rating on their 2023-2024 Final Performance Evaluation.
