Students shall be counted in attendance if they are actually present at school at the time the attendance is taken or are away from school on a school day and engaged in an educational activity that constitutes a part of the school-approved instructional program for the student (Section 1003.23, Florida Statutes).
You MUST bring in a note when you are absent to Student Services. If you are absent more than 9 days in a course, you may be denied that credit and have to repeat the course. Proper documentation that can excuse credit denial includes legal document from the courts or a medical explanation from a doctor. Notes written from home, do not fit the requirement for any absences beyond nine (9) days.
