GENERAL
*Lehigh Senior High School Center for the
Arts Dance Director Melissa Booth was
recently selected as Treasurer of the
Florida Dance Education Organization.
Melissa officially accepted this position at
the FDEO conference this past weekend in
Daytona Beach, FL. She will hold the office
of Treasurer until 2011. Melissa has been
teaching at Lehigh Senior High School since
2006.

*Malcolm
McCollum, a senior at Lehigh Senior High,
was one of 35 students from Lee, Collier and
Glades County selected to attend a college
tour of the University of South Florida and
the University of Tampa on Saturday October
24th. The trip was sponsored through
FGCU's College Reach Out Program (CROP).
*Staff
Member of the Month for October is Mrs.
Scurry. Mrs. Scurry's picture will be
posted on the wall of fame at AppleBees on
the corner of Colonial and Six Mile Cypress.

ARTS
*Congratulations to the Lehigh
Senior Golden Lightning Band for receiving a
SUPERIOR rating with superior rating in
Music, Marching, Maneuvering, General Effect
and Auxiliaries at the Florida Bandmasters
Associations District 18 Marching Band Music
Performance Assessment at Fort Myers High on
November 7th. The band has received
superior rating in marching band 13 out of
the 16 years history of the school.
*Congratulations
to the Lehigh Senior Golden Lightning Band
for receiving Best General Effect, Best
Visual Effect, Best Percussion, Best
Auxiliary and 1st Place in the Bronze
division at the 6th annual Marching Band
Invitational at Palmetto Ridge High School
on Saturday, October 24th.
*Congratulations to Sarah Lawrence for being
chosen to be a part of the University of
South Florida, Festival of Winds, Honor
Band. WAY TO GO SARAH!!!!
